Fr. Simeon Gallagher, OFM, Cap
About the Theme: It is no secret to say that in the last 50 years the lines for Confession have become shorter but the lines for Communion have become longer. Of the seven Sacraments of the Catholoic Church, the Sacrament of Reconciliation seems to be the least understood and yet what an experience of God's tenderness and mercy it provides! This weekend will look at the scriptural presentation of sinfulness, the history of this Sacrament, and examine the various elements for understanding what makes Confession a joyful experience.
About the Presenter: Fr. Simeon Gallagher, OFM, Cap., was born in Philadelphia and is a member of the Mid-America Province of the Capuchin Order. He was ordained in 1971, and his ministerial background is diverse. Fr. Gallagher conducts retreats, parish development programs, parish missions, and religious education workshops.
