The Church is Missionary...Pope Francis says he wants a church that goes forth into the world, a church that is missionary, whose members are missionary disciples who see the world as a field hospital and go out to the margins and peripheries of society.

A church that is not self -referential, focusing on its own security but is willing to go into the streets and get dirty and bruised and takes on the smell of sheep.  The very term that he uses, "Misionary Disciples", implies the need for Christians to enter into a deeeper soidarity with the world.  What would this look like and what is Pope Francis asking us to do?
