We are all united with God, who has chosen to dwell within us and love us with infinite, unconditional love. In this Day of Prayer, we will have the help of Thomas Merton, the famous Cistercian monk of Gethsemani Abbey, author of more than 100 books on prayer and the spiritual life. We will explore four forms of prayer that can help us become more vividly aware of the presence and love of God within us. We will also become more familiar with some of the spiritual exercises Merton recommends to aid our prayer and union with God. We will also reflect on the meaning of God's special gift of "contemplation", the actual experience of God in prayer, a foretaste of our future immense joy with God in Heaven.
