"Phylacteries and Tassels: The Challenge to Total Conversion"

About the Presenter:
Fr. Simeon Gallagher, OFM, Cap., was born in Philadelphia and is a member of the Mid-America Province of the Capuchin Order. He was ordained in 1971, and his ministerial background is diverse. Fr. Gallagher conducts retreats, parish development programs, parish missions, and religious education workshops.

About the Retreat: Phylacteries and Tassels are mentioned in a number of Scriptural references (Deut. 6:8; 11:8; Exodus 13:9, 16) but in Mathew 13:5 Jesus uses the image to indicate a lack of complete conversion. He asks the Paharisees to forgo externals in favor of the internal conversion of the heart. It was a challenge for them and is an on-going challenge for believers today. This retreat will look at the implications.

Registration Information:
The retreat check-in is between 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Friday and concludes after lunch on Sunday. Registration includes meals and accommodations.
